-
HOW LONG IS EACH THERAPY SESSION?Every session is 50 minutes long. Our first intake session will include review of necessary forms and what brings us together. After that, we will have a structured session based on your needs and goals.
-
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING OUR FIRST SESSION?Prior to our meeting, you will get an invitation to my practice software that leads you through some basic intake forms. (I can check insurance to verify for you, before we meet!) First, we will conduct an intake assessment and get to know one another. (I will lead the way!) Next, we establish your goals and talk about ways to get there. It's important to remember, YOU are in the driver seat! As we meet and go along, I will recommend certain things to work on in between sessions and we will review in order to make the most of our time together and keep that momentum going in between sessions.
-
WHAT IF I HAVE NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT, OR AM NOT READY TO TALK ABOUT "IT" YET?We take it at your pace. We will begin by getting to know each other. I will direct the conversation by asking questions and as we get to know each other, our comfort level increases. I know that what brings you here is very personal and sensitive information, and you may not be ready to talk about it right away. That's ok. We will get there when you are ready.
-
WHAT TYPE OF THERAPY DO YOU USE?I use CBT, DBT, and ACT. Depending on what brings you to therapy, we will tailor our treatment to what is best for you!
-
DO YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICATION?As an LCSW, I am unable to prescribe medication. However, talk therapy is an important addition to treatment when medication is also prescribed. Medication will help with chemical imbalances and help in taking the "edge" off, while talk therapy helps get to the root of the issue, teaching coping skills to combat what is challenging you.
-
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT OPTIONS?Currently accepting the following health insurance plans: Aetna Blue Cross Blue Shield Cigna Medicare United Healthcare 50-minute session - $120 Private Pay option is also available. We can discuss what works best for you!
